In the classroom, we have been working hard!!
Reading:
We are trekking through Unit 2 in our Reading Street Curriculum still. Our story this week is called "Life in the Forest."
This week Our Reading Unit Question is: What is a community?
Our Question of the WEEK is: How are plant and animal communities important to each other?
We have been continuing to work on identifying the Setting, Plot, and Characters in our stories. We are now working on identifying the Author's Purpose for writing our stories, as well as Cause and Effect and Main Idea.
For Phonics, we are working on King e. When a vowel is followed by a consonant and then a King E at the end, the e is silent and the first vowel says it's name! (i.e. make, Pete, like, tote, mute).
Math:
In math, we just finished up our unit on Data. We made lots of graphs about our favorite things and everything in between! we are working on counting up to 120. We are also working on counting by 1's, 2's 5's, and 10's. We have begun introducing the One Hundred Chart to students as well. Please make sure you are working with your Raven on counting onto and past 120.
Writing:
In Writing, we have been moving through our Personal Narrative Unit. Soon, we will be working on creating one finished draft of our writing! :)
Science:
In Science, we have been learning about how the seasons change, Apple trees, and the Pumpkin Life Cycle!
